Through Borders is a site about exploring places, cultures, and people. It started when curiosity had brings to seek adventures at the early class of learning photojournalism. Amazing photos of people travel together with their stories had encouraged me to begin the journey. Several years of photographing, now had finally took my confident to start writing and share the journey.
Through Borders also as a platform where I share my journey with indigenous people or known as ‘Orang Asli’ in Malaysia. In peninsular Malaysia have 18 different tribes of OA and they are been classified into 3 main groups. They are Negritos, Senoi (Sen-oi) and Proto-Malay. Every tribes has their own unique cultures and beliefs. I spend for more than 3 years with OA of Che Wong located in Pahang for my research. Most of my visit was with the people live inside the forest. As a town girl who know nothing about forest nor camping, it ‘s a wonderful privileged to have the people of Che Wong treated me as their family.
